This conference is part of the activities of the ISA Working Group on Local Global Relations (http://wg01.rggu.ru/) and Department of Political Sociology of the Russian State University for the Humanities.
The conference will examine new process and aspects of PUBLIC OPINION in globalizing world and its role and influence in the context of political decision-making.
The aim of the conference is to look through new perspectives on issues of globalizing public opinion in solving global and transnational and sub-regional problems and to investigate the role of organizations, movements and groups of interests in creating public opinion and articulation different interests at the international level as well as at local level.
Discussions will be focus on the following questions:
Public opinion and public discourse in modern Europe in the context of actual social problems and conflicts (migration, identity transforming, consequences of crisis, conflict in Syria ext) .
Public opinion as the factor of changing political spectrum in Euro union and European countries and Russia.
The role of public opinion in the forming Strategies of local development. Local initiatives and activities of local communities.
Estrangement and new social fears in the context of Globalization.
The role of global civil society in the forming Global and local public opinion.
Abstracts with title should not exceed 350 words.

The publication of the participants’ papers is being planned before the Conference.
The Organizing Committee has the right for a competitive selection of participants according to their submitted papers.
Full papers for publishing should be send by May,10.
